Power generation with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is a clean, efficient, and increasingly popular method of producing electricity using natural gas in its liquefied form. LNG is created by cooling natural gas to -162°C (-260°F), reducing its volume by about 600 times and making it easier to store and transport to areas without pipeline access. Once delivered, LNG is regasified and used in gas turbines, combined-cycle power plants, or reciprocating engines to generate reliable electricity for a wide range of applications.

Because LNG is primarily composed of methane, it burns much cleaner than coal, diesel, or heavy fuel oil, emitting significantly lower CO₂, virtually no sulfur oxides (SOx), and very little particulate matter.
